Later that night, we decide to enjoy dinner at the inn outside on the patio so we can enjoy some of the warmer fall weather we’re having. The best part about living in downtown Sunrise Bay is the close proximity to everything, so we walk hand in hand.

“This isn’t the way,” Molly complains.

“I just want to make sure everything is okay.” I grip her hand in mine, passing Truth or Dare. We have a new hire who’s closing tonight.

As I’m making sure there aren’t lines out the door or worse an empty restaurant, we spot Allie and Fisher at a table in the corner by the window.

“Talk about an uncomfortable situation. Could you imagine if I would have gotten pregnant when we were just messing around?”

“It would’ve been fine.” I put my arm around her shoulders and pull her in. “I handle surprises well.”

She laughs and kisses my cheek. “I love you, but you don’t.”

She’s right. The woman knows more about me than I do myself. “I love you. Now, let’s hope they can work it out.”

“Something tells me Fisher is going to man up,” she says.

“Is that a dig?” I stare down at her with an evil glare.

She chuckles. “No. You manned up… eventually.”

“You’re lucky you’re so good in bed.”

She pulls away from me, but I love it when she plays hard to get. “Is that the only reason you’re with me?”

“Nah, but now I’m thinking takeout?”

She smiles over at me. “You read my mind.” Her teeth nibble on her bottom lip and then it’s game over. I practically drag her to the inn to place our order.
